Fantastic Fencing News!
Back
We’re thrilled to share some fantastic news from the fencing world!
-
Ex Year 11 pupil, Josh C-B represented Great Britain in his first international competition in Copenhagen, what an incredible experience! Congratulations Josh.
- Closer to home, at the Norfolk & Suffolk County Championships, Fred D (Year 10), Robert L (Year 10), and Eric F (Year 11) all competed brilliantly.
- Special congratulations to Robert and Eric, who reached the semi-finals and earned bronze medals! They even pushed two of UEA’s top fencers to very close scores – an amazing achievement given the experience gap.
Josh, Fred, Robert, Eric all learnt the art of fencing during our after-school enrichment sessions, led by Mr Hewerdine who runs Cromer Fencing Club. The club currently has 24 pupils Cromer Academy pupils attending the after school sessions held in school on a Friday afternoon. 10 of these pupils have competed in competitions and we aim to expand on this in the near future.
We are extremely proud of all our pupils achievements.
